Dresser As Foot Board? December 9, 2010 Our House 11 Comments 11070 I got bit by the furniture arranging bug yet again, and in one moment of sheer brilliance or craziness (I’m not sure which!) came up with this: Maybe it’s a little unconventional, but it has the same feel as a foot board. It’s more functional than a storage chest or ottoman, and it seems to ground the bed. The dresser needs some vintage-y glass knobs like the one I put on my nightstand. I haven’t quite figured out how to style it yet, so I just kept a few items that were already on the dresser. I think I like it. After some google research, the only similar examples I saw were like this : Maybe this idea is reserved for children? What do you think? Would you ever try this? 11 Responses Carmen February 7, 2011 I’m so glad to have found this page because I did the same thing! Our dresser is a little taller, but I think it looks interesting. I’m thinking of doing the same exact thing because of the tremendously awkward layout of our bedroom. where is your dresser from? and do you happen to know the dimensions? Reply Lovely Crafty Home February 11, 2011 The dresser was actually my father in law’s from when he was a child, so I don’t know where it’s from exactly. We have a king size bed and it’s about 2 feet less wide. I would say it’s 18″ deep. Our bed is on those plastic cup looking risers and the dresser sits a few inches above it still. Hope that helps!! Reply jennie February 12, 2011 thanks for the info! I am definitely going to try this kind of layout. really glad I found your blog. 🙂 jennie February 11, 2011 this looks awesome!
