No I’m not talking about the muscle building variety, but about the new Jack Lalanne Juicer I bought this week.

Do any of you have juicers? Do you actually use them? I’m loving mine so far, despite the initial ick factor of combining certain vegetables with eachother and/or fruit. I haven’t made any complete disasters yet.

Here’s what I have learned so far:

1. A little beet goes a long way-careful with this one folks.

2. Zucchini and cucumber are very mild and can pair with almost anything. I almost always put the whole thing in.

3. Apple and carrot make a good base.

4. Add herbs!

5. Think it’s gone wrong? Add an orange…it masks pretty much anything.

6. Celery is very celery-ish. But, the more juice I drink, the less it bothers me.

7. Strawberries are an excellent way to improve taste and sweeten the juice, plus they are lower in sugar and calories than apples.

8. Exotic fruits are fun: kiwi, mango, asian pear…

9. If you don’t have one already, you’ll definitely want to start a compost bin.

10. It’s more filling/satisfying than I thought it would be.

So that’s the top 10 things I’ve learned from my 4 days of juice consumption…I hope you’ll share some of your secrets!
