Master Bedroom Paper Floor November 16, 2011 DIY, Our House 11 Comments 16332 ********If you are new to my paper floors, please read this first********** Finally. Finally. FINALLY my house is carpet free! When we last left off, I showed you this snapshot in the middle of staining: Here’s how it looked about 10 minutes later. After letting it dry overnight, I applied 12 coats of poly which took the whole next day into the evening. I managed to get some quarter round up that night also. My goal was to get it up in areas where there is large furniture (like our bed), so that I could fill it in later without having to move a bunch of stuff again. Once I put all the furniture back in, I was truly in love (note the lack of molding coming around the corner haha…) Here’s another shot on the other side of the room. I’m so excited to just be done with this project! Now the hunt is on for a large rug. Because of the odd dimensions of the space, I might actually get a large piece of carpet bound. It’s kinda funny that I ripped out the carpet only to put some back in 🙂 If you’re new to my paper floors, check out the full tutorial here. 11 Responses Jen @ Domesticated Nomad November 16, 2011 I love it! I can’t believe you have done a whole room and I still haven’t managed to finish my steps, copying you of course! Oh, jeez. I just thought “you’re the inspiration” which immediately made me start singing that song in my head. Hope that brightens your day. 🙂 Reply Angie November 16, 2011 Looks gorgeous! I’m getting ready to start the same project in my entryway & hope it turns out as well as yours! I hope you’ll link this project up at Knick of Time Tuesday! The party is going on now. Blessings, Angie @ Knick of Time Interiors Reply Julie November 16, 2011 Look so great! I know that you did your stairs- how have they held up? I want to do my basement steps (we just finished a room down there, and I hate the “basement-y” steps leading down to our cute room! Reply kim@too much time November 16, 2011 Seriously lady, you are freakin brilliant. The patience and time you put into that floor is astounding and it was totally worth it. It looks A-MA-ZING! Reply rachaelevans November 16, 2011 Thank you Kim! Reply linda vaupel November 17, 2011 Your bedroom looks great! I papered my bathroom floor a few months ago and left it natural. I am presently papering my 400 s.f. bonus room and want to do the darker stain like your bedroom. Thank you so much for the inspiration to be creative and thrifty! I’m curious how it’s holding up after a few years. Reply Rachael Evans August 18, 2014 It’s still in great condition! I should do an update post 🙂 Reply Vanessa August 23, 2017 I’m in the process of tearing out all my carpet and I’m considering going this route as a replacement, any tips for indoor pets I should know about. My other option is pallet floors, which would u suggest as preference to pets Reply Rachael Evans December 20, 2017 We kept the animals away from the areas when they were drying (3 cats and a dog), but other than that the floors have held up great! We do use area rugs.
