I was recently contacted by a company called MyMemories, which makes a digital scrapbooking software. They asked me to review the software and then generously offered a copy to giveaway to a lucky reader!

Well the short review is this: I LOVE IT. Read on for the longer version šŸ™‚

I’m not much of a scrapbooker anymore (although I still have 12 pairs of fancy edged scissors from back in the day). I guess once I got a digital camera I stopped printing photos. To be honest, I was a little worried that I was too out of practice to work with the software. But, I’d heard good things about digital scrapbooking from friends on mine, so I decided to give it a go. The downloading process was easy, and the MyMemories Suite installation went smoothly.

I’ll admit that after I installed the software, I was hesitant to get started. I’m sort of gun-shy when it comes to learning new things, and it takes me a little while to dive in. But I recently started selling some of my baby knits in a new shop and was asked to make a little “About Me” sign. It was the perfect project to start with!

Normally I use Paint Shop Pro, and it’s pretty good for editing photos. But for layouts or picture/text combos, it’s actually quite slow and usually leaves me frustrated. I was hoping to get a better result with the MyMemories software.

What do you think? I was shocked at how quickly I was able to make up this design. The software is really intuitive, at least in my opinion. I love the drop down menus on the right hand side that made it easier to find things.

Pretty self explanatory, right? I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of included gadgets, although you can purchase additional papers and designs online. You can choose from pre-made designs with papers and photo placements or design your own from scratch (which is what I did, above). As you can see, it’s more than a scrapbooking software. I’m seeing holiday cards in our future!

One of the best features is that you can export anything you do as a jpeg, so you can share it online, with a friend via email, or print it anyway you like.

If you want to get your hands on a free copy of the MyMemories Suite software (a $40 value), enter the giveaway in the ways listed below:

1) Visit MyMemories and browse the kits. Tell me your favorite and how you’d use it in a comment here.

4) Follow MyMemories on TwitterĀ and leave a comment telling me.

I just hosted one of these giveaways as well. I must ask- how were you able to post your creation to your blog post? I tried and tried and couldn’t figure out how to do it so I left it off my giveaway post in the end šŸ™

Angela- I’m not at my computer, but I think there is a share tab at the top which has an option to export as a jpeg. After that I just uploaded it like I would any picture.

I love the winter frost template! It would be great to capture this winter season, especially if we get a good snowfall or for our yearly trip to the mountains! I am a huge scrap booker but have never used a digital scrap booking software! I would love to win and try it out! Thanks for hosting

Is the Stampin’ Up! My Digital Studio made bt this company? It looks very similar. Are the designs compatible? I’m loving all the instant page kits. All the Halloween ones are so cute! I’d love to be able to just drop a picture in and print. Thanks for the chance to win it!
    Kindest regards,
    Jennifer

Jennifer, I’m not quite sure…I’m not too familiar with the digital scrapbooking world to be honest. Thanks for entering!
