A Happy Accident April 10, 2012 DIY, Eco Friendly Projects, Our House, Outdoors 5 Comments 7282 I was fortunate enough to snag a few antique windows from my friend Amy’s old place (she recently moved and the landlord didn’t want them) with plans to hang them on the porch. Unfortunately during a crazy Spring storm, they took a tumble from the wind and one of the windows lost a glass pane. Oh the horror! Plans ruined…or so I thought. I used some burlap to create a pouch (attached with a staple gun) and planted a lovely little blue plant in the empty pane. I love it so much, I almost want to break more panes….almost. You can see my ceiling project is still in process, but at least the porch is coming along! I still have to paint the ceiling beadboard and trim, then I’ll decide if I want to keep the black hooks or paint them white as well. Perhaps I’ll have this 36 sq ft area finished by winter. 5 Responses Sandy April 10, 2012 such an adorable idea!! Making lemonade out of lemons!
