Christmas Dining Room Tour December 15, 2016 Life 2 Comments 3716 I showed you my tree last week, and now I’m going to take you into the dining room! This is the first year I’ve really decorated other parts of the house besides the foyer and living room. I re-used a lot of supplies from my stash, so it cost next to NADA. The runner is a Thanksgiving leftover (HA) because let’s face it – it’s awesome. I made it super quickly from some outdoor fabric at Joann (literally THE ONLY wide b/w stripe fabric I could find). The fabric was twice this wide, so I essentially bought half the length I needed, cut it down the middle, and stitched the two ends together. By the time you set the table, you barely notice the seam. I’ve already confessed my love of greenery – there’s no better way to celebrate the Winter Solstice than to bring evergreens indoors (the origin of the Christmas tree tradition). These branches are from my giant leland cypress, but I noticed most garden centers sell cuttings if you want to re-create this look without giving any haircuts. I also laid some branches in the chandelier…you know, just for fun 🙂 I peppered the greenery “runner” with some gold accented pine cones and my pine cone garland (both past craft projects). Finally, I added 4 glass votive candle holders and my owl salt & pepper set. DONE! This table centerpiece is perfectly festive and ready for place settings if I want to have some friends over for dinner. The greenery lasts surprisingly long. Over in the corner, I put up my mini fake tree. It usually lives in the foyer, but I wanted to really get out of the box 😉 I had a scrap piece of burlap garland in my stash (why??) which added a little more interest. The topper is a gift bow I found at Target…like I said, WAY outside the box. Getting crazy over here. My gold “E” fits right in. Yes, I have two boxes of silverware. 2 Responses Pam January 26, 2017 In your Christmas Dining Room Tour from December 15, 2016, I love your chandalier! Where did you get it? Love your DIY projects!
