Gettin Mossy Wit It May 12, 2011 DIY, Floral, Floral Tutorials, Home Decor, Home Decor Tutorials 9 Comments 7764 If you cover a letter with moss, does it become a mossagram? This was my first moss adventure, well at least involving a glue gun, so I invited my friend Amy to get her moss on with me. Since we have the same monogram, it’s extra fun. We bought a couple of those plastic Es from A.C. Moore (also used in my book page monogram project). Here’s what else you’ll need: A pack of sheet moss glue gun/glue sticks Scissors Basically you just glue clumps of moss to the letter. Don’t worry if it starts looking less and less like a letter and more like a child’s project. When you cover the letter (or as you go), you take the scissors and trim the moss to define the shape. To replace the bookpage wreath that I am trying out on the living room window wall, I tied this mossy creation over the mirror in the dining room. It’s obviously not big enough (which is why I didn’t use it in the living room), but my plan is to get a twig wreath like this… to hang behind it. I think the layering will look awesome and it will bring some woodsy-ness into the dining area. But of course once I started mossing, I couldn’t stop here. We had already trashed the dining room, so I came up with other ideas for the moss. Like covering a glass votive and dressing up one of my outdoor mason jar lanterns. Maybe I’ll get around to doing all 4 one day. What about you guys? Have you gotten crazy with moss lately? 9 Responses Julie May 12, 2011 Love the letter! Just saw some moss at my dollar store and almost bought it… but I wasn’t sure of how it would turn out. I love it! I’m going to make one for my mantle’s mirror. Just the touch I need. Thanks!
