It’s been a long time since I shared pictures of our living room, and I’ve changed a lot of things so I feel like it’s due for an updated post. For old time’s sake, let’s look back at how it was when I first started blogging.

Wow. Yeah.

After many attempts to change the color of the walls without clashing with the couch, I realized we needed to get rid of the couch…and the recliner. A few colors of paint, some Craigslisted furniture, a new arrangement, and some new accessories later, we had something in transition:

I still felt like it wasn’t coming together though, so I bought a larger rug at IKEA to anchor the couches. I changed the art around and added an old window. Here’s what it looks like now:

I feel like it’s still a work in progress, but I’m really liking the direction it’s going. I’d love to change the coffee table and end table, but haven’t found the right ones yet. Can you ever really call a space done when you change your mind as frequently as I do?

In any case, it’s a huge improvement over the original space both aesthetically and functionally!

Looks great! My poor husband always thinks I’m finished when I get a room going in the direction I want… He doesn’t understand that everything I do is always a ‘work in progress’ lol
