Easy Instagram Photo Memo Board

This is a project I’ve had in the back of my mind for awhile, but after doing it, I can’t believe I let it sit on the back burner for so long! It was quick and easy and makes the start of a great collection.

My guest room is the new home to my pallet memo board, and I wanted to start using it to showcase photos from around my hometown – Asheville. I found 12 photos to start, put them on a USB drive, and had them printed 3.5″ x 3.5″ at Office Max. It cost less than $2.  I have them print images all the time for me – plain card stock color prints. I cut them with the giant fancy paper cutter at the store, then brought them home to figure out what else I wanted to do with them.

I looked at my stack of perfectly cut photos and thought “I really should have left a small white border.” Ha. Classic. No matter, I’m sure I would not have been able to achieve an even border around all the photos anyways with my limited paper cutting abilities.

So, I decided to mount the photos on cardstock instead 🙂 Here’s what I did:

With the help of a ruler and a tiny paper slicer, I was able to get roughly 4″ x 4″ squares. Trust me, this was an accomplishment for me. Have I mentioned how bad I am at paper crafts?

Then I glued each photo to the square in the somewhat-center and let them dry. I picked up a pack of mini clothespins to hang my mini masterpieces from.

I think for an almost botched project, it looks pretty cute 🙂 Of course, you can pay to have your Instagram photos printed by several online companies (even with borders!), but I found it to be kinda pricey for what you’re getting – plus you have to wait to have them shipped. For less than $5 I had the almost instant satisfaction of a project finished! I love the look of Instagram photos, and this makes me want to use them more…have you ever done a project using your Instagram pics?
